Έναν νέο τρόπο προσέλκυσης καταθέσεων «ανακάλυψαν» οι τράπεζες, οι οποίες παρά την ανακεφαλαιοποίηση τους παραμένουν πιστές στο κυνήγι των μετρητών. Στόχος τους το κοινό που διαθέτει ρευστότητα και δεν είναι διατεθειμένο να αναλάβει κάποιο ρίσκο επενδύοντας σε μετοχές, ομόλογα ή ακόμη και σε ακίνητα, αφού για αυτό προέχει η ασφάλεια της επένδυσης και δευτερευόντως η υψηλή απόδοση. Μάλιστα για να γίνει ακόμη πιο δελεαστικό το πακέτο, εκτός από τις αποδόσεις συμπεριλαμβάνονται δωρεάν συναλλαγές και προγράμματα επιστροφής χρημάτων. Αυτός ο νέος τρόπος λοιπόν είναι το e-banking μέσω του οποίου τα ελληνικά πιστωτικά ιδρύματα προσφέρουν υψηλότερα επιτόκια για τις καταθέσεις, το ελάχιστο κεφάλαιο που απαιτείται είναι κατά πολύ χαμηλότερο από την «κλασική» προθεσμιακή κατάθεση, ενώ συνδυάζονται με προνόμια σε όσους διαχειρίζονται τα χρήματά τους ηλεκτρονικά και χρησιμοποιούν τις on - line υπηρεσίες.
